Nintendo announced the new Nintendo Wii U on E3. The next-gen console is slated for release next year with its new (giant) controller which incorporates a 6.2-inch, 16:9 touch screen and traditional button controls, including two analog Circle Pads. It includes a built-in accelerometer and gyroscope, rumble feature, camera, a microphone, stereo speakers, a sensor strip and a stylus.
IBM Power-based multi-core microprocessor will run under the hood, and according to IBM, the same processor has been powering Watson on those Jeopardy man versus machine episodes.
The new console is backward compatible with Wii games and Wii accessories.
