Microsoft to Apple: Now it’s our turn

This is the new website of Microsoft Windows. It looks less enterprise-y and more user-friendly. It has a simple navigational interface and quick links on important stuff that windows can do (finally showing off other features and not just Flip 3D). I personally like the new look though believe they it still could be better. Just look at the Zune Software Interface!

Microsoft will soon be releasing a series of campaign after the Gates + Seinfeld duo, reinforcing PC users as dynamic, passionate and creative individuals. They also have their look-a-like version of the infamous “I’m a PC” Hodgman touting “Hello, I’m a PC, and I’ve been made into a stereotype.”

It’s about time that the PC (linux users too!) answered back to the negative campaign that Apple created. Microsoft hopes that this marketing campaign polishes the already tarnished image of Windows and the company as a whole.

“This is just the beginning, the first phase of the campaign,” said Mich Mathews, senior vice president for marketing at Microsoft. “We’re on a journey to reposition the PC.”

  1. Don't you just hate the "Mac vs. PC" ads? Apple has the nerve to air these ads when they're products keep setting new failure records.

    - iPhone activation? iPocalypse.
    - MobileMe massive service failure
    - iTunes sneaky installation with Safari
    - iPod Nano exploding
    - App store restrictive policies.

    Grr..
